The future of Canberra's iconic Black Mountain Tower is under the spotlight again, with concerns a commitment to transform it into a Ngunnawal cultural tourism venue has been put on ice.
The 195-metre tower continues to act as a telecommunications facility, but the site has been closed to the public since 2021.
The calls for more certainty around the project have been backed by independent ACT senator David Pocock and independent MLA Thomas Emerson.
"This is a Canberra icon that we could and should be using to celebrate the traditional owners of this land," Mr Emerson said.
"Let's take advantage of that opportunity and not let this opportunity fall by the wayside."
