This motion, brought forward by ACT Greens Leader Shane Rattenbury MLA, called on the Government to report back on the trialled inclusion of GPs in the new Digital Health Record (DHR) system, and to implement changes to increase efficiency, transparency and care in the use of the system.
Thomas proposed an amendment to note that practitioners have expressed frustrations with the rollout of the system and continued inefficiencies, and read out a statement from a midwife who described her experiences using the system. ACT Labor amended the Greens’ original call for the Government to implement changes to the DHR system to instead call on the Government to provide an update to the Assembly on potential changes to the DHR system.
The motion was passed by the Assembly with both ACT Labor’s and Thomas’ amendments.
