ACT Labor MLA Taimus Werner-Gibbings brought forward this motion calling on the Government to continue to develop the ACT’s road infrastructure in Tuggeranong, including by working with the Federal Government on infrastructure funding, and supporting regional growth and private and public transport.
ACT Greens MLA Andrew Braddock proposed amendments calling on the Government to adequately fund active travel infrastructure. Thomas supported this amendment because he considers sophisticated active travel infrastructure to be critical to Canberra’s future as a city that fosters the health and wellbeing of its residents, and supports reduced carbon emissions.
ACT Labor and the Canberra Liberals voted against the amendments, and the motion passed unamended.
