Come along to this community forum on Friday 12 September at Edgar’s in Ainslie to discuss the future of Wakefield Gardens with other interested locals and stakeholders.
A fire on 19 August 2025 burned through the vacant building at 91A Wakefield Gardens, which has been disused since Winnunga Aboriginal Health Services left the site in 2005.
There's been strong community interest over the last two decades in reactivating the site as a community hub for the inner north, and in reinvigorating the entirety of Wakefield Gardens.
You can sign the petition calling for the ACT Government to support a community-led vision for the future of Wakefield Gardens here. A working group has emerged to help shape what that vision could look like, which you can learn more about here.
The purpose of the forum on 12 September will be to sharpen the community’s vision and discuss how to bring it to fruition.
Please be sure to RSVP and feel free to direct any queries about this event to [email protected] or (02) 6205 1475.
