Senior ACT public servants will be held responsible for Closing the Gap outcomes, following the passage of legislation this week.
The bill passed ACT Legislative Assembly with unanimous support on Wednesday. This makes ACT the first jurisdiction to make a statutory commitment to the National Agreement on Closing the Gap.
Kurrajong Independent Thomas Emerson introduced a bill to make all ACT public servants responsible for the territory’s Closing the Gap obligations in June.
